In April of 2014, the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department responded to this early morning fire. The residents of that house got out alive because of their smoke alarms. We hope your smoke alarms are working, too!
Please clean your smoke alarms according to the manufacturer’s directions.
For extra protection, install a battery-powered smoke alarm to ensure that you’re protected during a power outage, when candles are most likely to be used.
